BIO

Migdalia Santiago is Daliaflor “Spirit of the Forest” is the name that my friend Denise Dominguez baptized me to while he was supporting me with the writing of my life story.  I am the creator of Creadores de Sueños (Creating your Dreams), a program that will provide services and workshops that will help you to find yourself and to give you the strength to become the creator of your dreams.

I was born in a beautiful country side of San Lorenzo, Puerto Rico. To grow up surrounded by the beauty of nature and cultivating the garden with my grandma help me to experience the love and peace of mother earth and to discover that nature provide us with the tools to learn and to grow spiritually.

Looking to understand human behavior and the effects of society and culture in our lives i decided to follow a career in Social Work services.  I am a Licensed Master Social Worker and my work is to empower people through counseling and guide them to find the resources they need to have better lives.

The birth of Creadores de Sueños

 The idea to develop the program Creadores de Sueños (Creating your Dreams) ,came out of the desire to write a book about my life experiences with purpose to help others sharing my ideas with them.  I was struggling in life since the age of 5 after my parents’ divorce.  However, I was able to survive the crisis and many others throughout my life with different coping skills and techniques that helped me to find the way out of difficult situations and dysfunctional ways of living.

 I started  to write the book with the coaching of the  writer, poet, healer and spiritual teacher, Maria Mar and her program ShamansDance, that is  a program that guide people to heal through art activities.  This work guided me to write my life story the story and at the same time to find areas that I needed to heal.   I discover that the work revealed a lot of important information about myself,  but also effectives ways and techniques that I used to deal with difficult situations.  I was surprised of my strength and knowledge i have regarding problem solution, self-esteem, healing methods, and alternatives to overcome obstacles in my life.

I decided to share my experience and knowledge with others that are also looking to find peace, love and harmony in their lives. Sharing this idea with my daughter Grissel Olavarria , she designed the beautiful  logo of the program that you are enjoying in this page. The drawings were inspired by the desire to re-born to a new life full of love and harmony.  The name of the program came out after the analysis of the written experiences which revealed that I was always creating new ways to make my dreams come thruth.

I continue my journey seeking to learn new alternatives to live a healthy life. At this stage in my life I am re-enforcing the teachings from my grandma that were based in her connection with nature.  Participating in the Shamanic Circle of New York, I am learning and practicing new ways of healing and alternatives to live in harmony.  The Shamanic Circle of New York is a group of shamans from different parts of the world that work together promoting ways of living that help to maintain social and spiritual balance.  I had the opportunity to meet my dear teacher Irma Caceres ” The Spirit Woman”, my teacher Manuel Peralta, Olivia Olkowski, Itzhak Berry,  Susana Tapia Leon and others.  In this group I also meet a Judith Caban my dear Reiki teacher.  For more information about  the graphic artist, Grissel Olavarria, Maria Mar and her program ShamansDance and the New York Shamanic Circle go to the resources page.
